ISRAEL STRIKES MEDIA BUILDING, REFUGEE CAMP IN GAZA

         An Israeli air strike targeted and dest-royed a high risebuilding in Gaza city that housed  the  officesb of  The  Associated  Press,AlJazeeraand other media outlets hour after another  Israeliair  raid  on  a  densely populated refugecamp killed atle-st 10 Palestinians from an extended family mostly children,on Saturday

The strike on the high rise came  nearly  an hour after the  military  ordered  people to  evacuate  the 12storeybuilding,  which  also housed other offices and  residential apartments. 

   The strike brought down the entire stru-cture,which collapsed in a gigantic Cloud.  Of dust.

  There was no immediate explanation for   why it was attacked.

The air strike on the refugee camp was the deadliest  single strike of the current conflict between Israel and the  militant  group Hamas.

Both sides are pressing for an advantage as ceasefire efforts gather strength

The spiralling violence has  raised  fears  of a new Palestinian “intifada,” or uprising, when peace talks have not taken place in years

Israeli planes renewed airstrikes in Gaza early on Saturday and  Hamas  militants responded by firing rockets into Israel  as  their battle entered a fifth night and U.S. and Arab diplomats  soughtan vend  to the violence.

     Palestinian medics said atleast four people were killed in one of several air  strikes in northern  Gaza.  Residents said Israeli naval boats fired shells  from  the  Mediterranean though none may have hit the strip.

The Palestinian Religious Affairs Ministry  said Israeli planes  destroyed a  mosque. Amilitary spokesman said the Army  was  checking the report.
